chadsvasc calculator

Atrial fibrillation risk score calculator. There are many calculators out there, but this one looks the cleanest to me

Background: people who have atrial fibrillation are at higher risk of stroke. Many, but not all, benefit from taking anticoagulants to reduce their risk of stroke. This calculator helps risk stratify patients to help determine how much a patient with certain risk factors would benefit from taking an anticoagulant.

You get the HASBLED score as well, which helps the clinician also consider the bleeding risk of being on anticoagulation.

And you get clipboard functionality so you can add it to your progress note. Back in my day when we wrote medical notes on paper, this was a great tool. Nowadays, your EMR probably has this built-in, but I’m sure this may still be helpful around the world.
